The Lost Legends by Cait Marie | e-ARC Review

Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! How are you all? I hope safe. I’m not sure if you remember but a few days ago I’ve posted a release blitz of The Lost Legends by Cait Marie. I also promised you a review that is coming right now. So here I am. I can say that this was a rollercoaster of emotions. I LOVED this book. You have to give this book a try. You just have to!

Huge thanks to Cait Marie for making it possible to read her book before its release day. Thank you! 🧡

Without further ado let’s start with the post.

All her life, Princess Adalina heard tales of the legendary, immortal warriors known as the Nihryst. Cursed and bound to a deck of tarot cards by her ancestors, the Nihryst were stranded on a remote island nearly a century and a half earlier.

Her brother, Prince Shane, is destined to rule the kingdom of Detmarya. Though preparing for this role has encompassed his entire life, control of the kingdom may come sooner than expected due to their father’s sporadic behavior.

Discovering the king’s plan to set a war in motion with a mass assassination, Ada unwittingly joins a crew of pirates in search of the only beings powerful enough to stop him: The Nihryst. Meanwhile, Shane and a group of underground rebels make a haunting discovery of a plague infecting the streets of Detmarya.

With a looming deadline to save multiple kingdoms and thousands of innocent lives, both royal siblings join quests worthy of Ada’s beloved fairy tales.

This book was, …., I’ve just finished it a few minutes ago and I’m speechless. The Lost Legends ruined me, broke me, made me laugh, cry well it did so much with me. It was a real rollercoaster of emotions. I swear! I was hooked from the very first chapter. That writing style. Everything was just so fluent, easy to understand, simple and the worldbuilding was beautiful. I liked the storyline a lot and the fears of reading about a hurt character were so real. I literally prayed that nothing bad would happen to my favourite characters.

I loved the fact that we could read this story in the point of views from the siblings Ada and Shane. With this writing choice, the reader could read about everything happening in the castle and all the things happening on sea. It was quite interesting to read the thoughts and decisions the siblings took and also to follow Ada on her quest. I liked that a lot and couldn’t stop reading. I’m actually glad that I’ve read the book on my kindle otherwise I might have thrown it against the wall because my heart broke somewhere during the book, just to mention what this book is doing to a poor reader’s heart. So cruel, but jokes aside I kind of loved that part. It was powerful and felt so real. I also had a clear image of how the characters looked like and it was so refreshing to read about book princesses or princes not being spoilt brats. Thank you for that!

The only thing I have to criticize is: Where the hell is the sequel?! After that end I definitely need it. But I guess that I will have to learn to be patient. At least I have something to wait for. That’s good, right?

Overall, The Lost Legends was a great fantasy novel that might teach us a lesson or two. If you’re a beginner in the fantasy genre or if you are a fan of this genre, The Lost Legends is going to be your book.
