Don’t you ever wish to find where you belong? A place where you can rest your head without worrying about being jumped or your possessions being taken from you? Not like I had much, to say the least.
A pendant, an ancient blade, and a picture of my murdered family were all I had left when I was five years old. Foster homes to homeless shelters, I never found a place of refuge. I simply didn’t belong, and everyone made it their duty to remind me of my predicament. Until I finally came across a place that felt like home.
Sacred Moon Shelter for Endangered Wolves. I’d stumbled upon the sanctuary when I was near death, but I was miraculously saved.
Since then, I’ve become a Wolf Tamer; the only one who can get close to touching the six rare breeds. When I’m with them, I feel safe and sometimes wish I could be like one of them and escape this cruel world.
But such inhumanity strikes home, a group of hunters shows up, ready to take my wolves to an unknown place or murder them in cold blood. I won’t allow them to kill the only true family I’d ever known.
My name is Harper Blake, and I vow to claim and protect my own.

Yumoyori Wilson is from Toronto, Ontario. She’s a Full-time author who loves to write many different genres. On her down time, she bothers her Mom and likes to drink bubbletea while reading and playing video games.
This is the first time I believe, that I’m reading something classified as reverse harem or harem in general. So I didn’t really know what would wait for me during the reading adventure. I have to say that Wolf Tamer didn’t disappoint me but it also left me pretty neutral. I guess that it was a good start, as it prepared me in that “genre” and I definitely want to read more of these kind of books!
And now without further ado, let’s start with the review!
# What I liked
First of all, I really liked that the different breeds of wolves were explained to the reader and that we didn’t get only one type of wolf but more. It’s kind of refreshing!
The relationship between the main character and her wolves was so great! The author really took her time describing this relationship and I felt myself trembling with fear every freaking time because I feared that one of the wolves would die in the book. I hope not! But that’s for you to find out 😉
Another thing I really liked was that bloody cliffhanger! I don’t know why I like these because cliffhangers are also pretty infuriating. But I guess that we readers are strange like that. At least it makes me want to know what’s going to happen in book two! And that’s definitely a great thing!
# What I disliked
Something I didn’t like was the child to present thing. The first few chapters are told from a child’s perspective, then we have the teenie perspective and later on only comes the adult one. As you are aware this book was an adult only novel. And for me, it was kind of awkward to read a book written in a child and under 16 points of view when I know that there are sex scenes coming later on. So yeah that was a thing that really made me feel awkward and made me give the book an under four stars rating. I would have rated it higher but that point really wasn’t my cup of tea.
For me at least, these chapters also felt kind of forced. And I believe that the author herself also felt better writing the adult chapters than the other ones. But again that’s only my point of view. Maybe other readers didn’t have that feeling!
I waited a long time for the reverse harem to happen but it did only later one. Well, now it’s kind of logic why it only happened later on during the book. But still, it was only a mention and not really a thing in this first book. So for me, it was wrongly labelled. Again I have no experience in reading reverse harem books. This is my first so I might be wrong! Another reader might have a different opinion on that.
Next thing going on my nerves, was that the main character, Harper, was really naive for her age during the adult chapters. It felt like she was still stuck in her 5-year-old self during the whole book. And this was kind of annoying.
# Favourite Character
Sam & Ian!
Overall this book wasn’t bad. I liked what I read but for me, it didn’t live up to all the expectations I had. I’d recommend it to those of you that are like me and want to read other genres and come out of their comfort zone. Wolf Tamer is a great example and good for beginner readers in reverse harem books!
