Down the TBR Hole |#15

Hello everyone! Or should I say, welcome back to my blog? For those of you who have already read the first article of the day: a blitz, welcome back! For the others, I’m glad you found your way to the blog today. 😀

The Down the TBR meme was created by Lost in a Story. Go check out Lia’s blog if you haven’t already. You’re probably wondering how this meme works. It’s actually pretty easy:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read-shelf
  • Order on ascending date added
  • Take the first 5 or 10 books (or even more if you’re feeling adventurous!) Of course if you’re doing this weekly you’ll start where you left off last time!
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

Last time on my shelf – 1417

Currently on my shelf – 1420

#10 – Don’t Blink – James Patterson & Howard Roughan

Goodreads Synopsis:

New York’s Lombardo’s Steak House is famous for three reasons – the menu, the clientele, and now, the gruesome murder of an infamous mob lawyer. Effortlessly, the assassin slips through the police’s fingers, and his absence sparks a blaze of accusations about who ordered the hit.

Seated at a nearby table, reporter Nick Daniels is conducting a once-in-a-lifetime interview with a legendary baseball bad-boy. In the chaos, he accidentally captures a key piece of evidence that lands him in the middle of an all-out war between Italian and Russian mafia forces. NYPD captains, district attorneys, mayoral candidates, media kingpins, and one shockingly beautiful magazine editor are all pushing their own agendas – on both sides of the law.

Back off – or die – is the clear message Nick receives as he investigates for a story of his own. Heedless, and perhaps in love with his beautiful editor, Nick endures humiliation, threats, violence, and worse in a thriller that overturns every expectation and finishes with the kind of flourish only James Patterson knows.

Only James Patterson books and this was pretty tough today as he’s one of my favorite authors! But hey I did manage to toss 7 books this week. We’re slowly getting there! How about you? How was your progress this week with the Down the TBR Hole meme? Please let me know in the comments below!

As WordPress changed its editor and it’s now working with Gutenberg please let me know if you can’t see the colours I used for the decision. I’m trying out a few things with this new editor and it still confuses me a lot so I’d appreciate the feedback to know if everything is still readable, or if there are other problems.  Thank you! 🙂
