Hello everyone!

Synopsis

When the Bat’s away, the Cat will play. It’s time to see how many lives this cat really has. . . .

Two years after escaping Gotham City’s slums, Selina Kyle returns as the mysterious and wealthy Holly Vanderhees. She quickly discovers that with Batman off on a vital mission, Batwing is left to hold back the tide of notorious criminals. Gotham City is ripe for the taking.

Meanwhile, Luke Fox wants to prove he has what it takes to help people in his role as Batwing. He targets a new thief on the prowl who seems cleverer than most. She has teamed up with Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, and together they are wreaking havoc. This Catwoman may be Batwing’s undoing.

Review

# What I liked

One thing I liked that it was kind of different from the other books Sarah J.Maas has written so far. At least for me, it felt different than the Throne of Glass books or the A court of Thorns and Roses trilogy. We are still in the fantasy genre but I don’t know something was different (I just can’t explain what it is 🤷🏼) and I really liked that!

Another thing I really liked, was the fact that the reader or at least I, got emerged in the story very fast. This is unquestionably a big plus point for me! It didn’t take me a few pages to get into the book or a few chapters. No, it took me only a minute before I was fully amazed by “Catwoman“.

Let me tell you guys, that plot was so great! I felt myself reading with excitement about what was going to happen next! We had everything, badass women, action, fight scenes, etc. It was definitely a good and full action-packed novel!

I have to say that I really loved reading these fighting scenes. During these parts, I had my problems putting the book down and it annoyed me every fricking time when a customer came to my cash desk at work and I had to put my book down. Gladly during the last month of summer, there aren’t many customers going swimming 😅.

Like I mentioned above this is really one of a badass of a book! And now Maas has definitely become one of my favourite authors.

In “Catwoman”, the meaning of friendship was really important and during the whole book Catwoman and her new friends always helped each other out. Which is very important because you see how Catwoman’s character is evolving thanks to friendship.

Now I want to know more about how life continues for our two main characters: Batwing and Catwoman. I hope that we do get another book about them! Or that we read about them in another DC Icons book. If there are any other books planned besides Wonder Woman, Batman, Catwoman and Superman.

This book had a great ending and even though I crave to know more about the main characters I can’t say that I would have wished for a better ending. This one was just perfect in my eyes!

Sarah J. Maas, you didn’t disappoint me! (Only in one point but I’m coming to that right now!)

# What I disliked

Something that got on my nerve was definitely the love interest. It was so predictable and I’m sick of it. It kind of infuriated me. I’m really sick of it. Especially when I don’t really feel the chemistry between the two characters in question.

# Favourite Character

Poison Ivy!

Overall I really loved this book and it was a nearly perfect rating! 4 1/2 stars aren’t that bad. I recommend it to everyone who liked the comics by DC and to those who love the works of Sarah J.Maas. This is a fast-paced novel with very short chapters and you can read it pretty fast.
