Books I want to read in the month of July
Hello everyone, today I’m going to talk about the books that I’m going to read during this month.
- A Darker Shade of Magic (V.E. Schwab)
In A darker shade of magic, we meet Kell, who is one of the only Antari (magicians) left. Kell lives in one of the parallel Londons, Here London is divided into 4 parts. Red London, White London, Grey London and finally Black London. Antari are the only people who can travel through all those parallel Londons. Unfortunately, Kell fell into a trap while visiting White London and had to escape to Grey London, where he thought that nobody could follow him. There he runs into Lila Bard – a thief. She will soon become his companion and together they have to save all 4 Londons.
This is my first book by V.E. Schwab and I have to say that I am loving this book so far. I’m halfway through with ADSOM so it will either be read or there will be a hundred pages left when this blog post goes online.
- Wayfarer (Alexandra Bracken)
This book starts where the first one ended. We are continuing our time travelling adventure with Etta and Nicholas. Will their paths cross and will they find the answers to all their questions? I guess we have to find out.
This is the second book in the Passenger Duology. I haven’t been a big fan of Passenger. I gave it a 3-star rating on Goodreads. The only reason I didn’t give a lower rating was that I enjoyed the last hundred pages of the book. The plot started to get interesting, but unfortunately too late. There were also way too many descriptions of everything. The book could have been shorter and it could have been easier to get through the book. I really hope that it won’t be the same thing with Wayfarer because I really really want to enjoy it.
- Gone Girl (Gillian Flynn)
After a long time, I’m going to read a thriller again. All of the books I recently read where either Fantasy or Sci-Fi. It’s really been a long time since my last thriller. I don’t know much about this book and I if I wouldn’t have won it in a Giveaway I don’t know if I would have bought it on my own. The summary is not very engaging and the cover is definitely not one of my favourites. Nevertheless, I’m excited to get to read this one soon.
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (Becky Albertalli)This is a book that you saw in my recent Book Haul. I placed Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens agenda high on my TBR List and I’m eager to read it this month. I’m not going to tell you much about this book. If you want to know the summary, I’ll link the Book Haul post down below.
The last book on my TBR is Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel. This is a science fiction novel following Rose Franklin. When she’s just a girl she is the victim of an accident. Rose falls through earth and is saved by firemen who witness the astonishing. Rose is being held by a giant metal hand. No one solved the mystery but Rose Franklin cannot stop thinking about it.
I have to admit that I am so excited to read this book. It sounds mysterious, the cover is awesome and I can’t even wait to start it.
What are you going to read in July?
As always the covers come from their respective Goodreads page.
